1949年初夏，毛泽东决定访问苏联，并为斯大林70寿辰送批国礼，其中指定湖南湘绣作为礼品之一。我党特派专员老周携带电台和一本《针谱》秘密潜入尚待解放的长沙城，在芙蓉绣庄建立秘密电台，既为毛主席出访苏联筹办湘绣礼品，又建立中央与湖南省委的直接联系，促使湖南和平起义。而此时，国民党军统特派员易平川也进入长沙，对国民党上层官员和进步人士进行监视镇压。老周的行踪从一开始就被易平川掌握并布下天罗地网，长沙城阴云密布……。Whitney (Wagner) owns Marietta Designs, an interior design firm which she runs with her friend, Andi (Tegan Moss).
