本剧是根据一宗清代冤案而编著的。梁天来（张家辉）与凌贵兴（邵传勇）为表兄弟，两人起初感情甚笃，可惜后因兴垂涎被父卖入妓寨的冬梅（蔡晓仪）美色，而梅不肯作为兴之妾，逃至梁家，被来收留为婢，兴未能成其好事，故对来渐生芥蒂，并处处为难之....。A young woman (Rosemary Wilcox) is haunted by pop-Freudian dreams of her recently murdered psychologist (and lover), so for some reason she goes to a resort where the psychologist liked to hang out and becomes involved with a gangster (Adolf Celli) and the strange female resort owner (Alida Valli).
