影片讲述了一事无成的中年写手陈东南，因为一场车祸穿越到了二十年前，遇到了年轻的自己。为了弥补青春的遗憾，中年陈东南帮助青年陈东南勇敢追爱、奋力逆袭，并想尽办法拯救初恋沈黎，上演了一出啼笑皆非、阴差阳错的精彩故事。。为了后述的全金动画第4作『Invisible Victory』，由千明导演担任总指挥，使用2010年代下的最新技术对第1期动画进行了改进，自2017年11月起，以『TV动画「全金属狂潮！」导演剪辑版』为题的三部曲总集篇在两处东京·一处大阪的影院进行了各自为期一周的期间限定上映。The story takes us back to 1889, in the wake of primary school teacher Louise Violet who is sent to a village in the French countryside to enforce Republic schooling (which is free, compulsory and secular).
