夏天，某个乡下小镇。春野吉子突然接到一个电话，是爷爷的讣告。她走到阳台上探出头，向在一楼院子里的父亲清二大声喊道，“听说爷爷去世了。” 为主持葬礼，清二和许久未见面的兄弟带着各自的家庭又聚在了一起，然而繁琐的准备工作让他们焦头烂额，甚至没时间去感伤。一些琐碎小事成了导火索，让兄弟间暗藏的不和一触即发，纷纷把各自不上台面的真实想法都吐露出来。看着吵成一团的亲戚们，吉子一心打算置身事外……。在電影《屍降》中，描述一群宗教心靈協會信眾舉辦喚魂儀式，想把死去的教徒喚回人世；不料卻意外招來孤魂野鬼，在屋子中作祟不得安寧。協會中高階能力者阿德（阿南達飾）趕忙處理，讓靈騷狀況暫時解除。但眾人開始逐一遭到附身，也揭露彼此不為人知的隱晦暗處。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
